NEW ALBANIAN  PUBLICATION

“Kulla e shpresës sime…….”
(“Tower of my hope……”)

The Ivanaj Foundations of New York and Tirana, not-for-profit organizations dedicated to “Advancing Education and Knowledge for the Future of Albanian Youth”, are pleased to announce the publication of a poetry booklet written by Martin and Mirash Ivanaj during their youth.

While studying in Belgrade in the early 1900’s, where the official language was Serbo-Croatian, these two brothers displayed their literary vocation by composing works that were published in a variety of local, cultural magazines of the time.  This booklet contains about three dozen poems, discovered only in the past 10 years.

On the 100th anniversary of their original publication, they are now available to the public in this pamphlet in an Albanian version, by Prof. Pjeter Dreshaj, a descendant of the Ivanaj family residing in Montenegro, who also provides a personal background commentary (also in English) on the poems.

A foreword in English and Albanian is furnished by Drita Ivanaj, president of the Ivanaj Foundations, along with an additional English translation of seven of the poems.

This collection was published in Albania this past month and very soon will be available in the United States. To order copies, please click here:
