The severe hot weather that has made this summer one to be remembered is now winding down a bit, and, here in the U.S.  we are celebrating a long holiday weekend for Labor Day (on Monday September 4th), which traditionally represents the end of this season.

Outdoor activities everywhere, however, may have to be cancelled by many due to the impending arrival of tropical storm  “Hermine” that is now battering the entire East coast of the States as an hurricane with coastal flooding, high surf, and strong rip currents with its incredible strong winds and torrential downpours that are expected to linger off the coastal areas for at least 3 days, before heading eastward.

While Rome, Italy, where over 100,000 tickets have already been distributed to attendees of Mother Teresa’ canonization tomorrow, may be blessed still with sunshine and even hot weather, let’s hope that Mother Teresa makes another miracle that will allow some of the festivities in her honor to take place here, in downtown Battery Park, the very tip of Manhattan Island!
